Is 7 My Lucky Number? You Be The Judge!

I found this on the ‘This little author should be writing books, not blogging’ blog – the Lucky Seven writing meme (yes another Meme!). As always, there are rules:

  1. Go to page 77 of your current MS.
  2. Go to line 7.
  3. Copy down the next 7 lines/sentences, and post them as they’re written. No cheating. [Or close enough to those seven lines – obviously you can finish a sentence.]
  4. Provide a link to your blog post in the comments here (or if you don’t have a blog feel free to just post your seven lines directly into the comments section)

So here are seven lines from my current work in progress ‘The Soul Hunter’. I will confess this passage actually didn’t start on the 7th line on page 77 it started on the 8th line.

“Hello Raph,” Mer spoke through clenched teeth, it was no secret that Raphael was despised by most of Hell’s occupants. “I was just looking for someone.”

Raphael was a HellSec, one of the Devil’s own personal assistants. He was painfully anal, a perfectionist who expected everyone to abide by his unreasonable standards. And he was a brownnoser, one of the Devil’s own lackey’s; and let’s face it, no one likes a kiss-ass.

What do you think? Sound okay? Do you want to know more about the residents of Hell and their various occupations? Don’t forget to let me know. As always I love hearing from you.

  2. This oddly reminds me of a section of the last chapter of the NeverWinter Nights: Hordes of Underdark expansion where you have to finish you quest in one of the Nine Hells and we have demons running an ice mining operation. Lots of fun there too… Sounds like fun, Jody.
